IRVING PARK, CHICAGO MONTHLY STATS

201901.jpg

The National Association of REALTORS® has reported in the last month that national existing-home sales and pending sales are both down in year-over-year comparisons, but that has not been a constant from market to market. While weather-related events have hampered some of the necessary machinations of making home sales, buyers have shown determination toward achieving their homeownership goals.

The median Detached Single Family Home price has increased more than 27% since January 2018. In January the number of Listings increased 6.8% over last year and the market time increased by more than a third. Inventory of homes is down by 7%.

The median Attached Single Family Home price has increased by almost 13% over a year ago. In January the number of listings increased 16% over last year while the market time more than doubled. Inventory of homes is up by more than 40%.

Monika Hajkowska of Five Star Realty Services said "that in light of the increasing price of detached homes and decrease in inventory we can expect to see more listings coming on the market. People who have been waiting for the right time to sell, will now take another look."
